Translation of the runes in the picture (Excerpt from an Archaeologist's Journal):
The items I've discovered thus far are wondrous beyond the realms of comprehension. It is most amazing to me. In this single effort I have found more interesting artifacts that I have ever seen in my lifetime. Forgive me, my hand, it writes in strange and erratic ways. However that's beside the point, and I need to keep to my records. So now for my newest addition.
(Notes on Weapon)
-Strange endings change weight to maintain an ideal balance.
-The handle is very well padded, seemingly by a cushion of compacted leaves.
-These blades are viscious cutters, probably employed in quick thrusts and slices.
The staff, bladed at both ends, was found hidden within the ruins of one of the large structures lying near the center of the dig. At first, the building was mistaken for a temple, and the bladestaff was thought to be a ceremonial tool. However a closer analysis proved that assumption to be false. Markings were located indicating the building as being something different, probably purposed towards the housing of troops. The staff was then given over to a weapons expert, who based on the weighting and craftsmanship reclassified the staff as a weapon. The staff I have chosen to call "Midurin's Glaive", named for the city it was found in.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community.
